How to make roasted vegetables

You only need a few ingredients to cook your perfect roasted vegetables. Have the ingredients on hand before starting the recipe. Such as:

  • Vegetables of your choice
  • Pepper
  • Salt
  • Olive oil
  • Optional: Herbs and spices

Instructions for vegetable fry

Step 1: First, preheat your oven to 400°F

Step 2: Now wash your favorite vegetables and cut them into bite size pieces. Chopped vegetables ensure cooked and crisp edges.

Step 3: Toss the vegetable with salt, pepper and olive oil. Also, if you like flavor, mix in your favorite spices and herbs.

Step 4: Now spread the vegetables in a single layer on the baking sheet, making sure the pieces are separate. Do not overcrowd the pan, as this will prevent them from frying properly.

Step 5: Then, fry the vegetables well until they are soft and brown. Be careful not to blacken in excess heat.

Step 6: While cooking, stir the vegetables lightly between the roasts to bring out the delicious brown color and flavor. Check the saltiness and finish cooking.

Serve the recipe hot and enjoy. Roasted vegetables are a trendy side dish of jollof rice.

How long to fry vegetables

Cooking time for vegetable roasts depends on the size and type of vegetable, cooking pan, and heat. Usually, vegetables like broccoli, onions, potatoes, cauliflower, and carrots take 5-10 minutes to roast. On the other hand, it takes 2-3 minutes to fry spinach and zucchini. Its color is a good way to tell if a vegetable is cooked properly. Their color indicates that the vegetables are cooked. Note, do not boil vegetables on high heat as they may cook for 1-2 minutes in their stored heat after removing from heat.

How to store roasted vegetables

Store your leftover roasted vegetables well after eating them. They are suitable for 3-4 days if stored properly. Do not store hot vegetables directly in the refrigerator, which can spoil them. Remove from the oven and cool for at least 1-2 hours, then store in an airtight container in the fridge. Remember not to combine multiple roasted vegetables as they spoil each other's taste and aroma. Heat well before eating. Add a little water and salt to taste.
