Make delicious Goat Liver Fry at home very easily

Mutton Liver Fry is a very nutritious and tasty side dish. Goat liver is a good source of protein, minerals, and vitamin A. It is an excellent food for the growth of a lactating mother and baby. Kaliji has a soft texture and a very nice taste. So, liver roast can be a healthy ingredient in your diet. However, here I am sharing a delicious goat liver fry recipe. So you can easily cook it at home and enjoy its taste.


Ingredients For Goat Liver Fry

  • Fresh mutton liver 500gm.
  • 8tbsp.
  • 2 dried red chillies.
  • 2 leaves bay.
  • ½ tsp Cumin seeds.
  • 1 tsp red chili powder.
  • 1 tsp coriander powder.
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder.
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder.
  • ½ tsp Garam masala powder.
  • 1 tsp tandoori masala powder.
  • Salt to taste.
  • 5 green chillies slit (optional).
  • 2 teaspoons ginger garlic paste
  • 1 medium onion finely sliced.
  • Cooking oil.
  • 1 medium onion finely sliced.
  • Chopped coriander leaves for garnish.
  • 4 small tomatoes roughly chopped + 2 tomatoes for garnish.

Step by step instructions for the recipe


Step 1: Wash the goat liver very well in clean water. After washing, drain the water, add a little salt and turmeric powder, and keep aside.

Step 2: Now, take a pan. Then, roast the dry spices and allow the roasted spices to cool. Once cool, blend in a blender to make a paste.

Step 3: Now heat oil in your nonstick pan. Now fry the chopped onions in hot oil. Fry until golden brown so as not to over fry.

Step 4: Once the onions are fried, lower the heat again for a while. Then add onion paste and fry on low flame for 3-5 minutes. Now add ginger-garlic batter one by one. Fry until the smell of raw garlic goes away.

Step 5: In this step, add turmeric, chili, cumin, and coriander powder. Now, mix everything well so that the powders do not get lumpy. Then add liver, tomato slices and salt to test. Now mix well again and cover. Now cook on low flame for about 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, open the lid and cover it with garam masala.

Step 6: It will give you a very nice aroma when cooked well. Check the salt one last time and take it down. It is a delicious recipe that cooks in a short time. Garnish with cilantro, carrot or cucumber and serve hot.


Recipe Note

  • Wash the pieces of liver thoroughly once, as repeated washing will reduce its flavor and break it down. So be careful while washing them.
  • Stir it well while cooking to add more flavor to the recipe. The more you stir, the more fragrant and flavorful it will be. But remember, pieces of liver should not be overcooked as overcooking makes them hard.
  • Served with coriander leaves, chopped cucumber, and mixed vegetable salad is totally optional. You can also have it with the famous jollof rice.

How do I remove the strong smell of the liver chunks?

Many people do not want to cook at home with the smell of goat liver. Soak liver parts in clean water and vinegar for 20 minutes before cleaning to remove this smell. It will remove bad odors and thoroughly clean any impenetrable areas.

Can I make Goat Liver fry in the pressure cooker?

You can definitely cook this recipe in a pressure cooker. Mix the liver parts well with the ingredient paste and cover the cooker. But watch the pressure cooker whistle. Take it down after 3 whistles.
